We recently put a survey on our Taekwon America International page and asked what topics would you like to learn more about; Korean history and culture were of particular interest to many of our members.
Few things are more representative of the Korean culture than the Hanbok. Hanbok refers to traditional Korean attire. In modern times it is reserved for special occasions like weddings, festivals, and celebrations. Although, there is a movement by many young Koreans to bring the tradition back to everyday life.
Today if you visit Korea, you can find several shops in Seoul that carry a wide variety of colors and sizes that you can purchase and take with you that day. More elaborate hanboks require measuring for a custom fit that allows you to pick your fabric and embroidery (but plan on this option taking much more time).
